Regulation of pesticide devices varies widely in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Some jurisdictions require pre-market registration at the federal level, others require it at the state level, and some do not require it at all.

Pesticide devices can include products like water- and air-treatment units and filters, germicidal ultraviolet (UV) lights, insect traps, and ozone or chlorine generators that use pesticidal or antimicrobial claims.
